ADOPT

It is estimated that around 1 860 giant pandas remain in the wild today.

Pandas are universally recognised and an international treasure. These charismatic bears hold a special place in the hearts of animal and nature lovers around the world. The giant panda is also the flagship species of WWF and has been our emblem since 1961. These iconic species represent both at-risk wildlife and their fragile habitats.

Adopting a panda is a symbol of your compassion for all endangered species and their homes, locally and globally.

Across our planet, billions of animals face daily threats to their livelihoods, caused by dangers such as illegal wildlife trade, poaching, climate change and deforestation. Unless we make changes now, we’ll soon lose the animals and plants that make our Earth so unique.

By adopting a panda, your donation stands as a symbol of protection for all vulnerable and iconic species.

We need your support to create a future for people and nature

Make a symbolic adoption of a panda today to show your care and love for nature.

What is WWF doing?

Our WWF International teams works to create wildlife corridors to reconnect and restore panda habitats. These teams also work hard to increase the area of habitat under legal protection whilst supporting local communities manage forest resources sustainably.

Locally, we work closely with rural communities who live near to major wildlife areas. Our influence in wildlife conservation policies assists in balancing environmental goals with social, political and economic needs.

How does the symbolic adoption work?

First of all: thank you. You’re choosing something different. This is not a normal gift. This is a special gift because it will help protect the beautiful and fragile nature that surrounds us.

This is a perfect gift for animal lovers, environmentalists or simply people with a big heart.
